Dot to dot.

Mock ups of my polka dot designs on pieces by Acne.

Let's dance.

Having danced for pretty much the majority of my childhood, ideas of movement and choreography is something that sort of just happens when I listen to a piece of good music. Be it travelling at high speed on a train, imagining I'm gliding and skating effortlessly along the tracks or just home alone with nothing but an expanse of wooden floor boards before me, inspired moments seem to happen when and where ever. So, it only seems like a natural next step for me to try and compile these thoughts and impulsive movements in to something. 2010 shall be the year that I make my first video. Something low key , addressing my love of colour, shape and sound. Some kind of experiment. However short and sweet, it's got to be done.

Today I was so happy to happen upon Vanessa Bruno's film for her new collection (directed by Stephanie Di Giusto). It's definitely got some elements I would like to draw on as my inspiration. Really beautiful.

Light show.

The incredible OOIOO.

John Stezaker.

I went to the private view of John Stezaker's new show at the Approach gallery in Bethnal Green this evening. Definitely one to go and see if you're in that neck of the woods.

Robert Frank.

New favourite.

Sandra Blow.

D.E.V.O.

I saw the original video for Jocko Homo last night. Totally amazing, but utterly bizarre all at once. If you ever get to see it, you're in for a real treat.

Walking wild.

Lou Reed doing his thing.

Ma MA prints.

I'm embarking upon the huge mission that is applying for an MA. This means hours of prepping my portfolio and tweaking things until my eyes are so weary I cannot see or think straight. However, in a clear headed moment, I conjured up this magic above. Lots more where this came from...

Chinito Chinito.

Ry Cooder doing his thing.

Harmony.

Animal Collective's very beautiful 'No more runnin'. I could listen to this again and again.

You never can tell.

First ever concert I went to was indeed Chuck Berry. FACT. As ever, a good dance routine is a key ingredient to any video I post.

Jimmy Jones.

Good name. Great song.

An old favourite.

Good old Pluxus. I love how every move represents a beat.

Visual treats.

I thought I'd see how a couple of my print designs might look if they were constructed into some of my favourite pieces by Chloe. Quite a nice result even if I say so myself.

PLAY TIME.

Whilst playing around with my patterns on these lovely garments by Acne and Chloe respectively, I happened upon these random outcomes. I like oversized things, so maybe there is scope for more development here...

3 sides.

A series of collaged faces I made looking at the theme of sequence.

Brian Jungen.

Delicious blankets created by Brian Jungen using old sportswear.

Tauba Auerbach.

Great abstracted and playful work, combined with nice graphic lines and tasty colours. Tauba Auerbach.

Lots of spots.

New textile designs by my fair self.

Brand new dance.

I've grown to have a total love affair with black and white and various shades of grey. I just cannot get enough. For me, this is lots of my favourite things rolled in to one. Shadows, basic dance routines, good shapes and a great variety of the colour grey.

Fallon Christmas '09.

Just before christmas, I wrapped a whole lot of things and people (poor people) for Fallon's 2009 christmas card. It was a pretty chaotic and sweaty affair for those concerned, but pretty funny to watch these people attempting to answer phones and attend meetings covered head to toe in wrapping paper.
